Biography
Heather J. Dukes is an Associate Attorney at Grinke Stewart Law. Heather’s passion for family law is rooted in a desire to help individuals and families navigate difficult times with strength, understanding, and dignity. She believes that family law is about more than reaching the finish line — it is about helping clients see the path ahead and walking beside them every step of the way. Heather’s approach is centered on compassion, communication, and creative problem-solving, ensuring that each client feels heard, informed, and empowered.
Having been born and raised in Texas, Heather is no stranger to Frisco and has grown up in the area her entire life. After graduating from Wakeland High School, Heather attended Texas Tech University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and graduated summa cum laude. After college, Heather moved back to Dallas and attended law school at Southern Methodist University where she graduated cum laude.
Heather committed her law school experience to seeking out leadership and advocacy focused roles – showing early on that she wanted to be an active voice for her future clients. She was named “Best Overall Attorney” at the 2024 San Diego Defense Lawyers Mock Trial Competition. She was a member of the Board of Advocates and held leadership roles through her involvement in the Family Law Association and Women in Law Association. Heather represented clients through the VanSickle Family Law Clinic and volunteered her time through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program. Heather took courses at Southern Methodist University centered around Family Conflict and Dispute Resolution, where she earned her Dispute Resolution Certificate of Completion. These experiences gave Heather valuable insight into the complexities of family dynamics, alternative dispute resolution, and unwavering advocacy.
Heather brings with her to Grinke Stewart Law that same work ethic, drive, and determination. She strives to guide clients through their unique family law matters with care and empathy and is committed to helping clients move forward with confidence and a clear plan for the future.
When Heather is not negotiating a settlement or advocating in the courtroom, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. With two active puppies, Heather is used to being on the go. She loves to run and has completed multiple half and full marathons. As a marathon runner, Heather knows firsthand how challenging it can be to push forward when the finish line seems distant. She applies that same determination to her family law practice, helping clients visualize their goals and remaining a steady, reliable presence until they cross the finish line of their case.
